AMANS Executive Director

As AMANS Executive Director, Jeff Sunderland plays the role of municipal advocate. All municipal partners in the MWV will look to AMANS to provide a fair and reasonable representation of their collective and individual needs. Metaphorically, this is the role of a "barometer", the most accurate and reliable "reading" of the overall municipal climate vis-à-vis the MWV's goals, policies and actions. The AMANS Executive Director's secondary role will be as the administrative leader of the project. Other responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with municipal partners, AMANS Executive, Department of Municipal Affairs and other stakeholders
  • Provide the MWV Advisory Committee with "readings" of the municipal partner's needs, desires, and problems
  • Advise the Advisory Committee on matters of the administrative process
  • Provide basic administrative support
  • Communicate policies to stakeholders

The Municipal Website Venture is administered through the Association of Municipal Administrators (AMANS), a professional, nonpartisan association dedicated to excellence in municipal administration, in partnership with the Department of Municipal Affairs.

This allows the MWV to be flexible, able to act quickly, and maintain full autonomy.

Municipal Website Advisory Committee

The MWV Advisory Committee's primary role is leadership. The Advisory Committee will endeavour to clarify the vision and mission of the venture and to make strategic course corrections as needed to achieve its mandate. Leadership will also include striving to meet the needs of the goals of its administration and governance. The Municipal Website Advisory Committee includes:
